Joseph Mugisha

Born and raised in uganda, Joseph Mugisha trained as a classical figure illustrator and sculptor from Nkumba University school of Art and Design.
He was retained to teach sculpture and drawing upon graduation with a BA in Fine Arts, where he remained for four years.
He eventually left academia to embark on a full time career in the figurative visual arts and join the Administration of the Uganda Artists association. He frequently showed his work at the Nommo Gallery, AfriArt gallery, Allianse Francaise.
In 2015 he completed an MFA in Animation and 3d modelling at the Academy of Art University. Today he manages his home studio in Methuen Massachusetts doing freelance figurative work ranging from traditional illustrations and portraits to digital sculptures.

He frequently showed his work at the Nommo Gallery, AfriArt gallery, Gallery, Allianse Francaise and Gallery Tulifanya.
In 2015 he completed an MFA in Animation and 3d modelling at the Academy of Art University. Today he manages his home studio in Methuen Massachusetts doing freelance figurative work ranging from traditional and digital illustrations, portraits, 3Dart to commissions of portrait busts and statues.
